What Are Vape Pens? A Guide

What’s your preference for taking your CBD? There are many options out there; edible gummies, pipes, drops, joints, and, of course, vape pens. Recently vape pens have made many headlines, so we figured we’d let you guys know what was going on.

So first and foremost, why do people choose to vape when there are all those other options? Well, for one, it’s a nice and quick way to consume CBD without the tar and carcinogens that come from smoking. There are also the benefits of a vape pen having flavored vapor, being better smelling and less intrusive to others than smoke is.

Vaping also has quick onset times.

The vape pen works by heating up the liquid, evaporating it, and turning it into a vapor which is then inhaled. The CBD (or whatever the contents of the vape pen are) is then absorbed into the blood. Vaping CBD delivers a bioavailability rate of between 34% and 46%. This is a lot higher than other forms of ingesting CBD (one report puts it at 56%), and may explain another reason why this method of taking CBD is so popular.

There are different forms of vapes, but the vape pen is created to vaporize both oils and cannabis distillates. The vape is comprised of two pieces – the cartridge and the battery – and is called a “pen” simply because it resembles one. They also come in various styles and shapes; some cylindrical, some rectangular, some with a button, some without. If you’re looking for more help on choosing a vape pen, check out our guide on what to look out for.

The hash oil vape consists of a heating element, chamber, and mouthpiece and the heating element is activated when connected with the battery. In fact, that battery capacity will determine the heat time your vape needs as well as its lifespan. Ignite’s vape hardware specifications are located on individual product pages.

Disposable vape pens aren’t as powerful as the others, but they still deliver everything you’ll need. You won’t need to charge them and once finished, you simply throw them away.

Vape Issues

As you’ve probably noticed, there’s been some cases involving vape pens and a lot of mystery as to what’s actually happening. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the issues seem to stem from illicit THC vape carts sold on the black market. In fact, the FDA is urging consumers not to purchase any vaping products bought off the street. At the moment, the CDC is zeroing in on vitamin E oil, (aka tocopheryl-acetate); it’s a cheap thickener but rest assured Ignite does not use this ingredient.

All Ignite vape products are third party tested for pesticides, residual solvents, microbial contamination, and heavy metals. We don’t release goods unless they pass the strictest guidelines for all those tests.

Another thing you won’t find in Ignite CBD vape pens is nicotine. Because the Ignite system can take both CBD and nicotine pods, we are legally required to have the warning on the package. But to be clear, no, the CBD pod does not contain any nicotine whatsoever.
